Visit Kiev and experience a European city unlike any other.Want an authentic European experience but don’t have enough money for it? The most direct way is by plane. The city’s airport, Boryspil International Airport, provides direct flights to most major cities, such as New York, London, Dubai, and even as far as Bangkok. However, the city’s secondary airport, Kyiv International Airport, also offers flights to and from the UK, Italy, Germany, and Russia.
Kiev’s public transport includes the subway, buses, trams, trolleybuses, and mashrutkas (mini buses). You can ride any of them as long as you have city transport passes. The city has several loading stations so you can reload credits for your pass.
Most would say that you can visit Kiev just about any time—except during winter season because the temperatures reach sub zero degrees. Also, the city comes alive during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons.
But if you are looking for more specific dates, then try to visit during Days of Kiev, the city’s anniversary, in May and join the festivities. You can also try to visit during the monthly Kurazh Bazaar, which is the city’s largest organized flea market. You’ll be sure to find great souvenir items.
Kiev has all sorts of accommodations, such as bed and breakfasts, hotels, inns, and even apartments. What matters is that you book in advance.

This is one of the few cities in Europe with still a significant number of medieval structures that remain intact. They also have an abundance of statues and monuments throughout the city.
There are also some unusual places to go to in the city. For example, if you need to break a sweat, Kiev has an outdoor gym called Kachalka Outdoor Gym. Not only does it have equipment, but it also has multiple obstacle courses. You can also visit the deepest subway station in the world, which is located across the Rodina Mat statue.
